PLACES TO VISIT

page break

Island View House is an ideal location to tour Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way. You will need to hire a car in Cork city for these tours, if you do not already have one. Castletownbere and its surrounding area offers many wonderful walking opportunities. Walking the Beara route crosses a beautiful part of Ireland and lets you see some of the most unspoilt parts of the south-west region. It offers magnificently rugged mountain and seacoast scenery which frequently passes by rich evidence of a heavily populated prehistoric past in the form of standing stones and burial monuments. There are also many fine villages enroute to explore, such as Allihies and Eyries.
