A Trip to the Cork City & Blarney.
A very pleasant day trip for our guests is to leave Kinsale and to to Cork city, be sure to visit the English Market and City Gaol. Cork is the European Capital of Culture for 2005 so you will find plenty to entertain and amuse you for a day, but if time is precious take a trip our to Blarney and after you “Kiss the Stone” go and check our the famous Blarney Woollen Mills, a great place to shop for anything that is Irish and often the cheapest by far. Return to Kinsale (45 minute drive) in time for a gentle stroll before dinner or relax at Rivermount and let us book a table for you in one of Kinsale famous Restaurants.

Trip Two – Go East.
Rise and shine and after breakfast head east towards Cobh – Midleton, visit Fota Wild Like Park and Period House. Go on to Cobh and check our the Queenstown Story, housed at the Cobh train station it tells the story of immigration in Ireland during the famine, a must for anyone with Irish roots. Before leaving Cobh go and see St Coleman’s Cathedral.
Following all that head for Midleton and check out The Jameson Heritage Centre, a great place to spend an afternoon.
Then back to Rivermount (45 minutes drive) to relax and unwind.
Trip Three – Go West.
Have an easy day and head west on R600 towards Clonakilty, check our the Model Railway, come back via Lisselan Estate and Bandon. This is a very popular day out with our guests.

Trip Four – Explore Kinsale
Have a day off driving and check our Kinsale, start with a walking tour of the town with Don Herlihy, after that go and see Charles fort. There is a lot to see in the town so be sure to leave a day free to explore the area. Desmond Castle and Wine Museum is great place. When you arrive we will provide you with maps and detailed information on where to go and what to see.

Guest who prefer to settle in our area for an extended stay may like to take 1 of the following day trips,
Killarney 90 minutes , Waterford under 120 minutes, Cashel 90 minutes.

Be sure to have dinner at Hoby’s, A super restaurant very popular with our guests offering gourmet food in a relaxed atmosphere ( great value for money)
Lunch at Fishy Fishy Cafe.
Sample live traditional music in one of our many pubs,
Take the Ghost tour, a great nights entertainment for young and old, history and street theatre all in one.
Go and see the Old Head of Kinsale
Kinsale Equestrian centre , a friendly place that caters for all levels.
Walk on the beach at Garrettstown.
Fishing, whether you fancy hiring a rod or going Deep Sea Angling we can arrange either.
